Kimberly Daley, Children's Author
June 2020 - November 2020
Kimberly Daley, an emerging children’s book author, needed branding to begin promoting her debut title, Meatloaf Beatloaf. I collaborated with her to develop a personal brand that reflected her creative voice. In addition to the branding and illustrating the book, I designed a full suite of marketing materials to support its launch and public presence.

The Challenge
Kimberly Daley was an emerging children’s book author with no established online presence. I was tasked with creating a brand identity that would be both recognizable and scalable, something that could grow alongside her as an author. This included designing a logo, developing complementary marketing materials, and building an engaging social media presence to generate excitement around her debut book, Meatloaf Beatloaf, and the imaginative world of stories she planned to create.
The Solution/Final Deliverables
Inspired by nature and Kimberly’s creative, free-spirited personality, I designed a logo featuring a feather to symbolize both creativity and a quill—an elegant nod to her role as an author. A soft sans serif font added a friendly, approachable tone. Once the logo was complete, I illustrated the entire Meatloaf Beatloaf book and created promotional materials including business cards, flyers, postcards, and graphics for library readings. I also organized and shot an author photoshoot to be used on social media and in the book to help put a face to her name. We built her online presence through a series of campaign rollouts, starting with a live-streamed university thesis unveiling, followed by a public library reading after the book launched on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The successful launch laid the foundation for future titles under her growing brand.
